Orbograph Presents Check Fraud Innovations at Data Support Systems 13th Annual User Conference

Sereno Technology Now Available on TRIPS Exceptions Suite

Billerica, MA - June 6, 2011 - Orbograph today announced participation at the Data Support Systems (DSS) 13th Annual User Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Joe Gregory, Vice President of Marketing, presented “Sereno Check Fraud Detection within the DSS Exceptions Processing Suite.”

Gregory’s presentation addressed how integrated image analysis with transaction analytics embedded within a single universal exceptions platform can provide tangible ROI beyond mainframe-based fraud detection using only transaction rules in a Day 2 environment. Benefits to an integrated solution that were discussed include: fraud loss reduction, reduced false positives, integrated decisioning within a single case management system and additional product offerings in treasury management, i.e. two signatures required.

An emphasis of the presentation centered around advanced image analysis technologies which include automated signature verification, check stock validation, check style analysis, CAR/LAR matching, draft detection, two signer detection, payee name verification and automated endorsement analysis. These technologies are used on every check presented for payment and compared against account profiles.

Carl Bortol Jr., President of DSS, commented, “Many banks are attempting to consolidate multiple imaging subsystems into a strategic payment platform. Our ability to incorporate fraud prevention into exceptions, adjustments, case management, dispute and returns improves operator effectiveness and is a path to eliminating payment silos by consolidating several platforms into a single user experience. Utilizing disparate payment silos has proven to make fraud prevention more difficult.”

Barry Cohen, General Manager of Orbograph Ltd., stated, “As financial institutions look to the future, they prefer strategic investments with short term ROI. We are addressing both with incremental performance coupled with strategic benefits by moving up fraud prevention into Day 1 or Day 0.”
