Remote deposit capture (RDC) has diversified beyond traditional corporate and merchant capture. Consumer and small business clients are reducing branch visits and depositing checks via flatbed scanners, low speed check scanners and smart phones. Orbograph’s Automation for RDC & Mobile provides a wide range of recognition capabilities which support the remote deposit capture process from any device.


The use of a slow to mid speed scanner in the corporate RDC process creates not only the image of the check, but also a read of the MICR line. This MICR line read is an important differentiator between a corporate RDC and Mobile/flatbed RDC transaction. In RDC transactions which do not have MICR line information, an OCR recognition process must be completed on the MICR Line. Additionally, check images captured in Mobile RDC require a special image preparation and cropping process to ensure the image is formatted, readable and sized properly.

For all RDC environments, Orbograph focuses on recognizing and or verifying information on the front and back of the check image. For images generated without MICR line data, please see Orbograph Business Alliance Partner, AllMyPapers.
