Check Recognition Workflows

Check processing workflows have evolved dramatically over the past ten years. The revolutionary concepts of distributed capture have achieved significant market penetration. Distributed workflows in check processing for over-the-counter items includes branch (back-counter) capture, teller (front-counter) and remote deposit capture (RDC).

Although distributed capture continues to gain strength, many institutions have implemented desktop selectively; meaning they have redeployed high speed capture equipment or medium speed scanners on a regional basis. This approach delivers a more centralized control to traditional back-office processes for high volume, while pushing out desktop devices to remote locations where courier costs are high on a per check basis.

The Orbograph suite of solutions is highly adaptable to all of these environments. For centralized sites, system scalability enables support for multiple high speed scanners. For back-counter and front-counter capture, Orbograph has several solutions, such as the "dynamic recognition client" and OrboCAR Bridge Interface (OBI) which allows business partners to push recognition engines to the branch or teller line seamlessly as well as track system performance at each location.  When it comes to RDC, the industry has evolved to more of a web-services, thin client model.  These environments can be easily supported within our wide range of system interfaces including Java, .Net and C#.

“Orbograph's flexible application programming interfaces (API's) enable our business partners to have unparalled flexibility in terms of how they want to utilize our technology and solutions. We deliver what the customer wants rather than forcing the environment to adapt to the recognition engine.”
