An Integrated Image-Based Fraud Detection Solution

Mitigate risk and prevent fraud with Orbograph’s Sereno as a Service module within Automation Services. Providing a barrier for financial institutions fighting against criminals in the area of check fraud, Sereno as a Service combines image-based fraud detection with transactional history as an integrated fraud solution that delivers the lowest false positives and the highest fraud detection rates in the industry.

As an aggressively priced module, Sereno as Service can now be implemented as part of Automation Services or embedded as part of an Orbograph business partners’ fraud suite.

Sereno as a Service runs inline, stand alone, or as a hosted service. Our flexible file import option called Silent Agent imports X9.37 or Orbograph TIFF images post recognition processing. A direct application programming interface (API) interface is also available. Either interface can help support one of the following workflows:

• Day 2: Centralized processing
• Day 1: Same day fraud detection
• Day 0: Real-time teller fraud prevention

Running on G6 Enterprise Recognition Technology, a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, Sereno uses Multi-Source Correlation Modeling™ to auto-clear good items and focus in on a very small population of suspects, addressing even problematic images with precision. i.e. image quality defects, IRDs, stripped items, and pre-authorized drafts (PAD)

In addition to fraud prevention, Sereno as a Service can also be looked at as a compliance and/or security strategy. The 2009 ABA Deposit Fraud Survey indicates that identity theft is one of the leading contributors of check fraud. Additionally, Red Flag rules, mandatory in 2010, can incorporate Sereno as a Service.
